Michelle Gomez was born in Brownsville, Tx, childhood in Mountain View, California, and raised in Round Rock, Texas. Her journey into the performing arts began through a community outreach program at a performing arts school, where she discovered her passion for dance. After not making the team her freshman year, Michelle auditioned again as a sophomore and was accepted into the McNeil High School Majestic Drill Team. By her senior year, she had become Hip Hop Club Captain and served on the Student Council board.

Recognizing that performance was the path she wanted to pursue, Michelle joined the professional dance company Austin City Showgirls after high school while attending community college and teaching hip hop at a local Austin studio. With ACS, she performed in music videos, commercials, charity events, and as a backup dancer for artists featured at the Premios Tejas Awards (2011 & 2013), including Gloria Trevi, Elvis Crespo, Andres Cuervo, AJ Castillo, and 8 Segundos.

Michelle later transferred to Texas Tech University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Theatre with minors in Media Strategies and French. During her time at Texas Tech, she served as President of Dancers With Soul, the university’s hip hop dance team, and was an undergraduate representative on the Dance Major Search Committee for a musical stage professor. She apprenticed with Flatlands Dance Theatre and co-founded a competitive hip hop dance team that won “Best Theme” at World of Dance 2014. Michelle also studied abroad in Paris, France, where she interned at the renowned hip hop institution Juste Debout Dance School.

After graduating, Michelle moved to Los Angeles to continue training at leading studios such as Movement Lifestyle, Millennium Dance Complex, and Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio. During her time in LA, she performed with artists including K CAMP and Tory Lanez and appeared on PUNK’D and the MTV Woodie Awards (2017) with Starley.

In 2015, Michelle experienced a major concussion from a stunt accident that dramatically shifted the direction of her career. After struggling with persistent post-concussion symptoms and limited treatment options focused primarily on medication, she began exploring holistic approaches to healing. That search led her to Restore Hyper Wellness, where she discovered hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which significantly improved her cognitive function and recovery.

Inspired by the impact of integrative wellness, Michelle began working part-time at Restore as a wellness representative and stretch therapist while continuing to dance and act professionally. In 2020, during the pandemic, she joined the presales leadership team for the Restore Hyper Wellness South Lamar location in Austin. Through grassroots marketing and community outreach, the team opened with over 250 founding members. Michelle was promoted to General Manager shortly before the grand opening and helped lead the studio through a highly successful period, putting the location on track to become a million-dollar store within two years.

In 2022, Michelle transitioned into the nonprofit arts sector, joining Zach Theatre in Austin with a focus on education and community programming. As the Bilingual Programming Family Series Representative, she devised and co-directed her original work, Una Noche Buena, a bilingual Spanish-English holiday musical designed for children and families. The production was a major success, selling out every weekend and reaching more than 17,000 students through school field trips.

Michelle later became the Community Engagement Associate at Zach Theatre, where she expanded bilingual arts programming into Title I schools across the Greater Austin area. These programs focused on literacy, creative expression, and empowering students to use their voices through storytelling and performance, reaching more than 800 students at no cost to their schools or families.

Recently, Michelle made the decision to step back from teaching dance and theatre in order to return to wellness management. With a renewed focus on supporting both her own healing and her family during her mother’s illness, she continues to dedicate her work to helping others access wellness, creativity, and personal empowerment.

A multidisciplinary artist and leader, Michelle brings together performance, education, and holistic wellness in her work. She is passionate about creating spaces where people feel empowered to heal, express themselves, and move through life with authenticity and resilience.
