Note from Choreographer, Michelle Gomez: This is a piece on grief cycle. I’ve had many moments of grief in my lifetime from sexual abuse, miscarriages, loss of loved ones, watching illness affect your family and more. Each cycle of grief has its own journey on my body and what kept me steady was my light within my community. Shared moments, share experiences, shared guidance, and a light our of my darkness. Battling faith during all these grief cycles have always shifted my perspective of my journey.

Mia and I thought it would be a great idea to do a title in portuguese as the music is inpsired by Samba from Brazil. This piece is about water pathways. While researching we came across a researcher name Ibere Guarani Mbya and he gave a speech about his name, the origin, and the connection between water pathways and human pathways of life.
