About Michelle Gomez

Michelle Gomez was born in Brownsville, Texas to Mexican-American Parents. Raised speaking Spanish until they moved to Mountain View, California. Her parents were sure to put her in as many activities from sports to dance. When her brothers were born, she began playing more sports. The Gomez family then moved to Round Rock, Texas at the age of 11. Once moving to Round Rock/Austin Area she began dancing for All-Stars Unlimited at Westwood High School Community Outreach Program. In High School, Michelle became a member of the McNeil Majestic’s and then Hip Hop Club Captain her senior year. After graduating high school, Michelle began her professional dance career with a professional dance company, Austin City Showgirls. That experience really kickstarted her drive to perform and study dance. During her college career she was the President of the Texas Tech Hip Hop Team, Dancers With Soul. She increased the size of the team from 22 to 43, achieved 17 performances in the Lubbock, Texas and received the first student organizational funding from the university. The next year, she retired from the DWS to be a co-founder of Dirty West Dance Crew, an elite hip hop girls dance crew to compete at World of Dance 2014 and Michelle became an appreciate at Flatland Dance Theatre. During the Summer of her senior year, she studied abroad in Paris, France for two months while interning at a hip hop dance school named Juste Debout Dance School. Michelle received a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Texas Tech University with a minor in Media Strategies and French in December 2014. Once she graduated, she moved to Los Angeles to continue her education in dance studios such as Movement Lifestyle, Millennium Dance Complex, and the Debbie Reynolds studio. Michelle is back in Austin and ready to begin her first year teaching at the Dance Gallery. She performed in four music videos, two commercials, one TV show and was a back-up dancer for multiple performers such as Opening performance for Tory Lanez and KCAMP, Music Video for Calvin Harris, Wiz-Khalifa, J-King, Gloria Trevi, Elvis Crespo, Andres Cuervo, Aj Castillo, TV Show- Punk'd, and 8 Segundo’s.
